Very interesting movie, but it’s definitely not for those mainstream movie watchers. Bewarned.
A pity it’s not going to open till 22 Feb 07, it would have been a very good romantic movie to catch with your potential “other half” on V Day. Still, don’t force your hand or force a date to the movie, it spoils the taste of the movie.
A compilation of 18 movies (it was originally slated to be 20, or 21, in accordance with the number of major districts in Paris), it focuses on the theme called “love” and of course, Paris itself. Some of the movies were direct, some were nuanced, a few was disturbing, but generally, most were thought-provoking. I still feel that the story directed by Christopher Doyle was brilliant, and definitely deeper than what it seems to be.
A definite thumbs-up for me. Would have liked the movie even more had I not been feeling so tired while watching it just now. Worth a re-watch, when I finally find the right lady to watch with. If I ever find the right one.
